About this piece
Seven hundred years ago in Barnack stone quarry. Aged 12.
Barnack quarry to the northwest of Peterborough took a thousand years to exhaust, and built Ely and Peterborough cathedrals. Stonecutters would work through the winter and some at least became stone masons in summer, installing the huge number of stones produced. In memory of those who worked so hard there.
